To make this cheeseburger casserole, I started by cooking some ground beef in a large frying pan with a dab of margarine.
I crumbled the ground beef well while it was cooking.
When the ground beef was fully cooked, I added some diced onions to the pan.
I stirred the onions into the beef and left them to cook for a few minutes stirring occasionally.
Then I removed the pan from the heat and added some crumbled bacon, mayo, ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper and onion powder.
I stirred until all of the ingredients were fully combined.
I spread 6 slices of bread with margarine and then cut them in half.
I lay the bread slices, margarine side down, in the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
Then I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the bread slices.
I spooned the ground beef mixture on top of the cheese and spread it out evenly.
Then I sprinkled more shredded cheese on top of the meat.
I spread 6 more slices of bread with margarine and cut them in half.
Then I lay the bread slices, margarine side up, on top of the casserole.
I placed the dish in the oven and baked it until the bread on top was golden brown.
