To make this Hawaiian pasta salad, I started by cooking a pound of macaroni according to the directions on the package.

While the macaroni was cooking I grated some carrot.

I also grated some yellow onion.

When the macaroni was finished cooking I drained the water.

Then I dumped the cooked pasta into a large mixing bowl while it was still hot.

I poured some apple cider vinegar over the macaroni.

I added the grated carrot and grated onion to the bowl.

I stirred all of the ingredients together well.

Then I left the macaroni to sit and cool, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes.

While the macaroni was cooling, I prepared the dressing.

I dumped two cups of mayo into a medium mixing bowl.

I added some milk, brown sugar, salt and pepper to the bowl.

I whisked all of the ingredients together well.

Once the macaroni had cooled for 15 minutes, I added the dressing to the bowl.

I stirred until all of the noodles were coated in the dressing.

Then I added some chopped green onions to the bowl.

I stirred well again.

Then I covered the bowl and placed it in the refrigerator.

After a few hours, I removed the bowl from the refrigerator and stirred the pasta salad well one last time before serving.
