Step by Step Instructions for Making Instant Pot Garlic Parmesan Chicken and Rice

 STEP 1:

To make this Instant Pot chicken and rice, I started by slicing some boneless, skinless chicken breasts into strips.

Then I turned my Instant Pot on to the Saute Normal setting.

I added some margarine to the Instant Pot while it was heating up.

 STEP 2:

I added the chicken breast slices to the pot and cooked them until almost no pink remained.

Then I turned my Instant Pot off.

 STEP 3:

I added some water, heavy cream and cream of chicken soup to the pot.

I stirred the contents of the Instant Pot gently and then added some long grain white rice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.

 STEP 4:

I did not stir after adding the rice.

Then I placed the lid on the Instant Pot, locked it in place and turned the steam release handle to the sealing position.

I turned on the Pressure Cook High setting for 7 minutes.

Once the Instant Pot was done cooking, I immediately opened the steam release handle to do a quick release.

 STEP 5:

I removed the lid once the float valve dropped all the way down.

Then I added some shredded Parmesan cheese and parsley flakes to the pot.

I was so worried about this dish after reading the comments as my instapot was coming to pressure, I thought maybe I would get a burn notice or it come out mushy, too much cheese ect but it turned out PERFECTLY 👌 It was delicious. I only used 1.5 cups of cheese due to only having that amount on hand but it didn't make it difference. I did exact on everything else and the fam raved about it. Adding this to our monthly favorites. Thank you for sharing!

Really love this recipe. The only thing I wish for… is that the words DO NOT STIR in number 6 were bolded. I always end up forgetting and stirring. End user error :) Otherwise, love this recipe for an easy weeknight meal especially during sport/practice seasons.

If you don't scrape the bottom of the pot after you saute the chicken you will get burnt notice. Otherwise I love this recipe!

I made this exact recipe but at the end I put it into a casserole dish. Added a thin layer of cheddar cheese and crunched corn flakes to the top and bake for 30 min at 375. AMAZING.
