STEP 1:
I started by cooking some macaroni noodles according to the directions on the package.
I drained the noodles and set them aside.
STEP 2:
I wrapped 4 wieners with one bacon slice each.
I placed the bacon wrapped wieners in my air fryer basket with the seam down to hold the bacon strips in place.
STEP 3:
I placed the basket in my preheated air fryer and cooked the bacon wrapped wieners at 380F for 7 minutes.
STEP 4:
While the wieners were cooking; I poured heavy cream, a can of cheddar soup, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder into a large pot over medium heat.
I whisked the ingredients together well.
STEP 5:
I added the cooked macaroni noodles to the pot and stirred until they were well coated in sauce.
Once the sauce started to bubble I reduced the heat to low.
STEP 6:
I added some shredded cheese to the pot and stirred just until it was melted.
STEP 7:
I scooped the mac and cheese into 4 hot dog buns.
I pressed the bacon wrapped wieners down into the mac and cheese on the buns.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I make these ahead of time?
- Yes! You can wrap the hot dogs in bacon, store them in the fridge, and air fry just before serving.
- You can also make the mac and cheese in advance and reheat it when you’re ready to assemble.
How do I keep the bacon from unraveling in the air fryer?
- Wrapping it tightly usually does the trick, but if you’re worried, you can secure the ends with toothpicks — just remember to remove them before eating.
What toppings go well with these?
- Chopped green onions, jalapeños, extra shredded cheese, BBQ sauce, or hot sauce all make great additions.
Do I need to pre-cook the bacon?
- No, the air fryer will cook it through, but if you prefer extra-crispy bacon, you can partially cook it before wrapping the hot dogs.
