These creamy chicken and dumplings take just forty minutes to make and serve four people.

To make these easy chicken and dumplings, I started by cutting some boneless, skinless chicken thighs into bite sized chunks.

Then I placed a large pot on the stove over medium-high heat.

I added some butter to the pot.

Once the butter was melted, I added the chicken thigh chunks to the pot.

I cooked the chicken pieces until only a little pink remained and then I added some diced onions to the pot.

I continued cooking the chicken and onions until the onions were translucent. 

Then I added some all purpose flour to the pot.

I stirred well and continued cooking for a few more minutes.

Then I added some condensed chicken broth to the pot.

I stirred well until the chicken broth thickened slightly.

I added some milk to the pot and stirred again.

Then I brought the liquid to a boil.

While I was waiting for the liquid to boil, I dumped some Bisquick and milk into a medium mixing bowl.

I stirred until a sticky dough formed.

I divided the dough into balls approximately half an inch in diameter.

Once the liquid was boiling, I dropped the dough balls into the pot.

I stirred well, covered the pot and reduced the heat to medium-low.

I left the chicken and dumplings to cook for ten minutes.

Then I added some canned corn, peas and carrots to the pot.

I also added some salt, pepper, ground sage, garlic powder and onion powder to the pot.

I stirred all of the ingredients into the chicken and dumplings.

Then I left the dish to continue cooking for another five minutes, this time uncovered.

After five minutes the chicken and dumplings were ready to serve.
