Step by Step Instructions for Making Cheddar Bay Spaghetti Casserole

 STEP 1:

To make this biscuit and spaghetti casserole I started by cooking some spaghetti until almost tender.

Then I drained the pasta and set it aside.

 STEP 2:

While the spaghetti was cooking, I dropped some lean ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat.

I crumbled the ground beef well.

 STEP 3:

I added some diced onions to the skillet.

I stirred well and continued cooking until the ground beef was fully browned.

 STEP 4:

I added some chopped garlic to the skillet.

I stirred well and continued cooking for about two minutes.

 STEP 5:

I added some salt and pepper.

I stirred well again.

 STEP 6:

I added a jar of marinara sauce to the skillet.

I stirred the ground beef and marinara together.

 STEP 7:

I added the cooked spaghetti to the skillet.

I stirred until all of the noodles were coated in sauce.

 STEP 8:

I sprayed a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

I scooped about half of the spaghetti mixture into the baking dish and spread it out evenly.

 STEP 9:

I dumped a tub of ricotta into a mixing bowl.

I also added some milk and Italian seasoning to the bowl.

I stirred the ingredients until well combined.

 STEP 10:

I poured the ricotta mixture over the spaghetti in the baking dish and spread it out evenly.

I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella cheese over the ricotta.

 STEP 11:

I spooned the remainder of the spaghetti mixture over the cheese.

 STEP 12:

I poured a box of Cheddar Bay biscuit mix into a mixing bowl and set the seasoning packet aside.

I added some shredded cheddar cheese to the bowl.

I also added some milk to the bowl.

I stirred until no large lumps remained.

 STEP 13:

I poured the biscuit batter mixture evenly over the spaghetti in the baking dish.

 STEP 14:

I placed the dish in the oven and baked the casserole until the biscuit topping was nicely browned.

 STEP 15:

Then I removed the dish from the oven and placed some butter in a microwave safe bowl.

I melted the butter in the microwave.

I added the packet of biscuit seasoning mix to the melted butter.

I stirred the seasoning and butter together well.

 STEP 16:

I brushed the butter mixture over the biscuit topping on the casserole.

I left the casserole to rest for about five minutes to give the biscuit time to soak up the butter.
