FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I make these ahead of time?
- Yes! These cookies can be made a few days in advance and stored in an airtight container until ready to serve.
How should I store these cookies?
- Store them at room temperature in an airtight container. If your kitchen is warm, you can refrigerate them to keep the chocolate firm.
Can I freeze Peanut Butter Ritz Crack Cookies?
- Yes, they freeze well. Place them in a freezer-safe container with parchment between layers and freeze for up to 2 months.
Do I need a candy thermometer for the toffee?
- Nope. As long as the mixture is bubbling and turns a deep golden colour, you’re good to go.
Can I use regular Ritz crackers instead of the snackwiches?
- The peanut butter snackwiches work best for this recipe, but regular Ritz crackers with added peanut butter can be used in a pinch.
Can I use paper muffin liners instead of silicone?
- I don’t recommend using paper liners for this recipe as they may stick to the toffee. It is best to use either a silicone muffin pan or to line your metal muffin pan with silicone muffin liners.
