Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make Halloween 7 Layer Bars ahead of time?
- Yes! These bars are a great make-ahead Halloween dessert. Prepare and bake them up to 2 days before serving, then store them in an airtight container.
Do I need to refrigerate Halloween Layer Bars?
- No. Once completely cooled, the bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3–4 days.
Why do I need to let the bars cool completely before cutting them?
- The layers are very soft and gooey while warm. Cooling allows everything to set so you can cut the bars into neat squares without them falling apart.
Why is the candy corn added after baking?
- Candy corn can melt and lose its shape in the oven. Adding it shortly after the bars come out keeps those recognizable orange, yellow and white pieces intact.
