Step by Step Instructions for Making Sugar Cookie Stuffed Cinnamon Rolls
STEP 1:
To make these sugar cookie stuffed cinnamon rolls, I started by unrolling a sheet of Pillsbury pizza dough onto a floured cutting board.
I used a rolling pin to roll the dough out into an even rectangle.
STEP 2:
I placed some softened butter, brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small mixing bowl.
I used a fork to cream the ingredients together until well combined.
STEP 3:
I spread the cinnamon sugar mixture over the pizza dough.
STEP 4:
I sprinkled chunks of Pillsbury sugar cookie dough over the pizza dough.
I started by using my hands to press down and spread out the sugar cookie dough and then I finished spreading it with the rolling pin.
STEP 5:
I sprinkled some colourful sprinkles over the cookie dough.
STEP 6:
Then I tightly rolled the dough starting from the short side and placed the roll seam side down once I was finished.
I cut off about one inch of dough from each end of the roll.
Then I used a serrated knife to cut the roll into nine even slices.
STEP 7:
I lined a 9 x 9 baking pan with parchment paper and sprayed it with cooking spray.
I placed the cinnamon rolls in the baking pan spacing them out evenly.
STEP 8:
I placed the dish in the oven and baked the cinnamon rolls until they were golden brown.
STEP 9:
I removed the pan from the oven and set the cinnamon rolls aside to cool for about 10 minutes.
STEP 10:
I poured softened butter, milk, powdered sugar and vanilla extract into a mixing bowl.
I used an electric mixer to cream the ingredients together until smooth.
STEP 11:
I used a rubber spatula to spread the frosting over the cinnamon rolls.
STEP 12:
I sprinkled some more colourful sprinkles on top.
Then the gooey sugar cookie cinnamon rolls were ready to serve.
The sugar cookie filling melts into the cinnamon roll, creating a rich, sweet center that pairs perfectly the vanilla glaze.
Sprinkles add a festive, colorful touch, making these rolls perfect for birthdays, holidays, or any time you need a little extra fun in your life.
