FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I make these mashed sweet potatoes ahead of time?
- Yes! You can prepare them up to 2 days in advance. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding a splash of cream if needed.
Can I boil the sweet potatoes instead of baking them?
- You can, but baking brings out the potatoes’ natural sweetness and keeps them from becoming waterlogged, resulting in richer, more flavorful mashed sweet potatoes.
How do I know when the sweet potatoes are done baking?
- They should be very tender and easily pierced with a knife or fork. Depending on their size, they may need a few extra minutes in the oven.
