Apple pie and apple crisp are a couple of my favourite fall desserts. Here is a quick and easy way to enjoy an apple dessert when you are short on time.
This recipe could be made using one baking dish but I chose to make individual servings in french onion soup bowls.
I used canned apple pie filling and for the crumble topping mixed Quaker Oatmeal Cookie mix with some butter.
To make it even sweeter I drizzled some caramel ice cream sundae sauce over the top before serving.
I started by spooning some apple pie filling into four French onion soup bowls.
Then I mixed together some oatmeal cookie mix and melted butter until it had a crumbly texture.
I sprinkled the mixture over the apple pie filling completely covering it.
I baked my Apple Crumbles at 400F for fifteen minutes until the crumble topping was getting nice and brown.
I drizzled the caramel sauce over the desserts after removing them from the oven.
The result is a delicious and comforting apple pie like dessert. The crispy crumble topping adds great texture and the caramel sauce adds just the right amount of sweetness to the dish.
These desserts are best enjoyed still warm from the oven. Just allow them to cool a bit first because the pie filling gets very hot.

- 2 cans apple pie filling
- 2 cups oatmeal cookie mix
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Divide pie filling evenly between the 4 oven safe bowls.
- Combine cookie mix and butter with a fork.
- Crumble cookie mixture over the pie filling.
- Place bowls on a baking sheet and put in oven until topping is golden brown ( about 15 min ).
- Remove from oven and drizzle with caramel sauce.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving
