I tend to always make chocolate desserts but today I wanted to change it up and make a super tasty dessert that does not contain any chocolate.
I really like Blondies so I decided to start with a blondie base and go from there.
I added some sour cherries to my basic Blondie recipe to create this new treat.
I started by combining some light brown sugar with melted butter, an egg, vanilla and salt.
I used a wooden spoon to mix the ingredients together until no lumps remained.
Then I added some flour and baking powder and continued mixing.
I stirred in the pitted sour cherries last and was careful not to stir too much as the cherries break apart fairly easily and I wanted to try to keep them intact.
I poured the mixture into a greased eight inch square pan and spread it out evenly.
Then I baked the blondies until a toothpick inserted in the center came out clean.
I allowed the blondies to cool before slicing and serving.
If you try to cut them too soon they will just fall apart and you will have a huge mess.
These turned out amazing!
I love the combination of the toffee flavour of the blondies mixed with the tart sweetness of the cherries.
These squares are one of my new favourite desserts.

This recipe is just for a cake, not a blondie. The title is seriously deceiving. The cake is just okay, nothing special. My advice, don't waste the ingredients and find a better recipe.

This is absolutely the best blondie recipe I have ever made. Extremely moist and the sour cherries taste delicious in this blondie recipe.

We doubled this and baked in a 13X9 pan for 45 minutes, using sweetened Morello cherries. Could have baked a few minutes longer but still one of the best we've eaten. It's gonna be a family favorite. Thanks for the recipe!
