FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I use a different type of potato?
- Yes! Yukon Gold, red potatoes, or russet potatoes all work well. Just cut them into evenly sized pieces so they cook at the same rate.
What type of smoked sausage works best?
- Any fully cooked smoked sausage will work, including kielbasa, andouille, or smoked beef sausage. Andouille will add a little extra spice.
Can I use fresh green beans instead of canned?
- Absolutely. Add fresh green beans during the last 1½ to 2 hours of cooking so they become tender without getting mushy.
Do I need to stir everything while it cooks?
- No. Simply layer the ingredients as directed and let the slow cooker do the work. Stir everything together just before serving.
