Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts?
- Yes! Boneless, skinless chicken thighs work well and will give the soup an extra-rich flavor. Just cut them into bite-sized pieces and cook them following the same directions.
Do I need to cook the gnocchi before adding it to the soup?
- No. Add the dried potato gnocchi directly to the simmering soup and cook for 3–5 minutes, or until tender.
Can I use rotisserie chicken?
- Yes. Skip the initial chicken-cooking step and stir chopped or shredded cooked rotisserie chicken into the soup toward the end so it has time to heat through.
How do I store leftover Marry Me Chicken Soup?
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. The gnocchi will continue absorbing some of the broth as it sits, so the soup may become thicker.
