 STEP 4:

I placed the baking sheet in the oven and baked the pierogies until they were crispy, flipping them once about halfway through the cooking time.

 STEP 5:

While the pierogies were cooking, I dropped some ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat.

 STEP 6:

I added some dehydrated minced onions to the skillet with the ground beef.

I stirred well and continued cooking until the ground beef was well browned.

 STEP 7:

I added a packet of taco seasoning to the skillet.

I stirred until all of the meat was coated in taco seasoning and continued cooking for a couple minutes.

 STEP 8:

I added some water to the skillet.

I stirred well and continued cooking until all of the liquid evaporated from the skillet.

Then I turned off the heat.

 STEP 9:

I spooned the ground beef over the cooked pierogies on the baking sheet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I use a different flavor of pierogies?

  • Absolutely! Cheddar pierogies pair perfectly with the taco-seasoned beef, but potato and onion, four cheese, or even classic potato pierogies all work well.

Do I need to thaw the pierogies first?

  • No. This recipe is designed for frozen pierogies, which crisp up beautifully in the oven without thawing.

How should I store leftovers?

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

What’s the best way to reheat leftovers?

  • Reheat them in a 375°F oven or an air fryer for a few minutes to crisp the pierogies back up. The microwave works too, but the pierogies will be softer.
