To make this casserole, I started by dropping some butter into a large pot over medium heat.

Once the butter was completely melted, I added some all purpose flour to the pot.

Then I poured some condensed beef broth into the pot.

Then I poured some heavy cream into the pot.

I whisked well again.

Then I added some salt, pepper, parsley flakes and Worcestershire sauce to the pan.

Then I added some frozen Swedish meatballs to the pot.

I stirred until all of the meatballs were coated in the sauce.

Then I left the meatballs to simmer in the sauce for six minutes, stirring occasionally.

I dumped the meatball and sauce mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread the meatballs out into a single layer.

Then I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the meatballs.

I placed some frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.

Then I placed the dish in the oven and baked the casserole until it was bubbling and the tater tots were browning.

I removed the casserole from the oven and left it to sit for about five minutes before serving to allow the sauce to thicken.

  8. Add the salt, pepper, parsley flakes and Worcestershire sauce and whisk one last time.
  9. Add the frozen meatballs to the pot.
  10. Stir until all of the meatballs are coated in sauce.
  11. Leave the meatballs to simmer for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  12. After 6 minutes, dump the meatball and sauce mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  13. Spread the meatballs out into a single layer.
  14. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the meatballs.
  15. Place the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  16. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake the casserole until it’s bubbling and the tater tots are browning. 36-40 minutes.
