  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • Chopped parsley for garnish
  • 2-3 cups hot, cooked rice for serving

Instructions

    1. Into a dutch or cast iron skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
    2. Add the steak to the skillet; stir and heat until browned on all sides.
    3. Add the onion and sauté until tender (1-2 minutes).
    4. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
    5. In a separate bowl, mix together the soup, water, and garlic salt; pour over the meat and mix well.
    6. Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to low.
    7. Cover and continue to simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 45 minutes or until the meat is tender. Be sure to scrape the bottom of the skillet when stirring to prevent sticking.
    8. Serve over hot, cooked rice and garnish with chopped parsley.
    9. Enjoy!

Notes

  • If the gravy is too thick for your liking after cooking, slowly add water and mix well until the desired consistency is reached.
  • The steak should be thin (about ⅛ inch) in order for it to become tender in that amount of cooking time. Additional cooking time would be required for thicker pieces.
  • If you like more gravy and less meat, use ½ lb. of steak or double the gravy.
