Ingredients You’ll Need to Make This Beef Milanesa:

  • 1 (1.25 pounds) package Milanesa cut beef
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic and herb seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 teaspoons water
  • 3 ½ cups italian seasoned panko bread crumbs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • Lemon slices, optional garnish

How to Make Beef Milanesa:

  1. Allow the milanesa to warm to room temperature before starting.
  2. While the milanesa cuts are coming to room temperature, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, garlic and herb seasoning and black pepper in a medium sized mixing bowl.
  3. In a second, smaller mixing bowl whisk together the eggs and water until smooth and frothy.
  4. Place the flour mixture in a large, shallow dish, the whisked eggs in a second large, shallow dish and the bread crumbs in a third.
  5. Dip each cut of milanesa into the flour mixture and sprinkle more on top. Rub until the cut is completely coated with flour and then gently shake off any excess flour and set the meat on a clean plate.
  6. Repeat with each cut of meat until all pieces are “dredged” or coated in the flour mixture.
  7. Once all pieces are covered in flour, dip them, one at a time, in the egg mixture until the egg covers the whole piece of meat.
  8. Allow the excess egg mixture to drip off and then lay the meat in the bread crumbs and sprinkle more over the top.
  9. Gently pat the bread crumbs onto the meat until fully coated and then gently shake off any excess crumbs and place the breaded meat on a plate to the side.
  10. Repeat with all of your flour coated milanesa until all pieces have been fully coated.
  11. Once the meat is breaded, heat the oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. The oil should come up about ½ inch in the pan, if necessary you can add more.
  12. Once the oil is hot enough that a drop of water will sizzle if added, place once slice of milanesa in the hot oil.
  13. Allow the milanesa to fry for about 1 minute on each side or until the breading is golden brown. I recommend using tongs to turn the milanesa over.
  14. Remove the cooked meat from the pan and place on a clean plate covered with a paper towel.
  15. Repeat with each slice of meat until all pieces are cooked. You may need to strain out some crumbs if they are causing the oil to burn.
  16. Serve your milanesa hot with french fries and lemon slices, optional.
  17. Enjoy!
