I removed the dish from the oven and carefully lifted the foil to release the steam.

I allowed the beef tips to rest for a few minutes.

I stirred well.

What should I serve with beef tips and gravy?

Beef tips and gravy are a hearty dish that pairs well with a variety of sides. Here are some options you might consider:

  1. Mashed Potatoes: Creamy mashed potatoes are a classic accompaniment to beef tips and gravy. They soak up the flavorful gravy and provide a comforting contrast to the tender beef.
  2. Rice: White or brown rice is another popular option that can soak up the savory gravy. You can also consider serving flavored rice, such as garlic or herb rice, for added flavor.
  3. Egg Noodles: Wide egg noodles are a traditional pairing with beef tips and gravy. The noodles provide a soft, chewy texture that complements the beef and gravy well.
  4. Roasted Vegetables: Roasted vegetables like carrots, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts add a delicious contrast to the rich flavors of the beef and gravy. Roasting brings out their natural sweetness and creates a satisfying side dish.
  5. Steamed Vegetables: Steamed vegetables such as green beans, broccoli, or asparagus offer a lighter option that balances the richness of the beef and gravy.
  6. Dinner Rolls or Bread: Serve some warm dinner rolls or crusty bread on the side to soak up any extra gravy and complete the meal.
  7. Salad: A fresh green salad with a light vinaigrette dressing can provide a refreshing contrast to the hearty beef and gravy.

Ultimately, the choice of side dishes depends on your personal preferences and dietary restrictions. Feel free to mix and match these options to create a well-rounded meal that suits your taste.

I make a version of this only change is I use ginger ale instead of broth, to me this does not change the taste but it does help the beef come out even more tender. This is a recipe that is in a regular rotation at my house.
