To make this soup, I started by cutting some beef round steaks into one inch cubes.

Then I dumped some butter into a large pot over medium-high heat.

As the butter was melting I added some diced onions and garlic puree to the pot.

I stirred all of the ingredients together well.

Then I added the steak chunks to the pot.

I spread the steak chunks out into a single layer.

I cooked the steak for a few minutes until only a little pink remained.

Then I added some all purpose flour to the pot.

I stirred until all of the steak chunks were coated in the flour.

Then I added some salt, pepper, smoked, paprika and onion powder to the pot.

I stirred well again and left the steak to continue cooking until the flour was just starting to brown.

Then I added some beef broth to the pot.

I stirred well until the broth started to thicken.

I brought the liquid to a boil.

Once the liquid was boiling, I reduced the heat to low and covered the pot.

I left the soup to cook, stirring occasionally, for 40 minutes.

While the soup was cooking I cut some red potatoes into approximately one inch chunks.

I also chopped some celery.

After 40 minutes of cooking time, I removed the lid from the pot.

I added the chopped potatoes, celery and some canned corn to the pot.

I stirred well.

Then I added some condensed cream of mushroom soup and condensed cream of potato soup to the pot.

I stirred well again.

I brought the soup back to a simmer.

Once the soup was simmering, I reduced the heat back to medium-low and returned the lid to the pot.

I continued cooking the soup, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes I removed the lid from the pot and stirred the soup well one last time.

  • 1.5 lbs boneless round steak
  • 1/4 cup butter

  14. Once the liquid is boiling reduce the heat to medium-low and place a lid on the pot.
  15. Leave the soup to cook, stirring occasionally, for 40 minutes.
  16. After 40 minutes, remove the lid and stir well.
  17. Add the potato chunks, diced celery and undrained can of corn to the pot.
  18. Stir well.
  19. Add the cream of mushroom soup and cream of potato soup to the pot.
  20. Stir well.
  21. Bring the soup back to a simmer, then return the heat to medium-low and cover the pot again.
  22. Leave the soup to continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
