To make this pot roast, I started by seasoning a beef chuck roast with salt and pepper.

I heated some butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Once the butter was melted, I added the beef chuck roast to the skillet and seared it until brown on all sides.

Then I transferred the roast to my Crock Pot.

I added some chopped onions, minced garlic, steak seasoning, baby potatoes, sliced carrots and bay leaves to the pot.

I also added some beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the pot.

I placed the lid on the Crock Pot and set it to cook on LOW.

I left the roast to cook for eight hours.

Around the seven hour mark I added a cornstarch slurry to the pot.

 

After eight hours of cooking time I removed the lid from the pot.

I transferred the roast and vegetables from the pot and placed them on a serving dish.

Ingredients You’ll Need to Make This Crock Pot Pot Roast:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (2.5 lb to 3lb) chuck roast
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large yellow onion chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 ½ cups cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ tablespoons steak seasoning
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 bag (680 g) of baby potatoes
  • 4 medium carrots peeled and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon of water

How to Make Crock Pot Pot Roast:

  1. Season the roast with the salt and pepper.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, add the butter. Once the butter is melted, add the roast and sear until brown on each side.
  3. Transfer the roast to the slow cooker, and add the rest of the ingredients, except the cornstarch and fresh parsley.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours.
  5. In the last hour of the cooking add the cornstarch mix with water. Stir.
  6. Remove the roast and vegetables from the slow cooker and place them in the serving dish. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
