  • Vegetables: You could leave out any of the veggies and add your favourites.
  • Rotel: You could use diced tomatoes in place of Rotel if you don’t like spice.

What should I serve with my cowboy soup?

Cowboy soup, often known for its hearty and flavorful ingredients, can be complemented with a variety of side dishes to create a satisfying meal. Here are some options for what you can serve with cowboy soup:

  1. Cornbread: Cornbread is a classic accompaniment to cowboy soup. Its slightly sweet and crumbly texture pairs well with the savory flavors of the soup.
  2. Biscuits: Flaky biscuits or buttermilk biscuits are another great choice. They can be served warm and buttered for a comforting combination.
  3. Crackers: Saltine crackers or oyster crackers can be a simple and convenient side for dipping or crumbled into the soup for added texture.
  4. Salad: A fresh garden salad with a simple vinaigrette or ranch dressing can provide a nice contrast to the rich flavors of cowboy soup.
  5. Corn on the Cob: Grilled or steamed corn on the cob is a great addition, especially if your cowboy soup has a southwestern or Tex-Mex twist.
  6. Cheese and Jalapeño Bread: If you want a more adventurous side, consider serving cowboy soup with a cheesy and spicy bread, like jalapeño cheddar bread.
  7. Pickles and Onions: Some tangy, pickled onions or dill pickles can provide a nice contrast to the soup’s flavors.
  8. Avocado Slices: For a southwestern twist, slice some ripe avocados and serve them with the soup. The creaminess of the avocado complements the soup’s ingredients.
