This chili Frito pie serves 6 people and takes less than 30 minutes from start to finish.
To make this Frito pie, I started by cooking some lean ground beef in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
I crumbled the ground beef well while it was cooking.
Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I drained the excess grease from the pan.
Then I reduced the heat to medium and added a packet of taco seasoning to the meat.
I stirred until the meat was well coated in the taco seasoning.
Then I added some Heinz chili sauce, medium salsa and canned corn to the pan.
I stirred well and left everything to simmer for a few minutes.
Then I poured the meat mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
I sprinkled some Frito’s corn chips on top of the meat mixture.
Then I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella and cheddar on top of the Frito’s followed by some chopped green onions.
I placed the dish in the oven and baked the Frito pie until the cheese was completely melted.
This hearty ground beef dish has a bit of a kick from the salsa and taco seasoning.
The Frito’s corn chips give each bite a nice crunch.
