To make this Italian meatloaf, I started by dumping two pounds of lean ground beef into a large mixing bowl.
Then I added two eggs and some Italian bread crumbs to the bowl.
I used my hands to mix all of the ingredients together well.
Then I added some marinara sauce, shredded Italian cheese blend, basil pesto, salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder to the bowl.
I used my hands again to mix until all of the ingredients were fully combined.
Then I lined a loaf pan with aluminum foil and sprayed it with cooking spray.
I pressed the meat mixture into the loaf pan.
Then I poured some marinara sauce on top of the meat mixture and spread it out evenly.
I placed the pan in the oven and baked the meatloaf for forty minutes.
After forty minutes I removed the meatloaf from the oven.
I sprinkled some shredded Italian cheese blend on top of the meatloaf.
Then I returned the pan to the oven and continued baking the meatloaf until the cheese on top was completely melted and the meatloaf had reached an internal temperature of 160F.
I removed the pan from the oven and left the meatloaf to rest in the pan for five minutes.
After five minutes I used the foil to lift the meatloaf out of the pan.
Then the meatloaf was ready to slice and serve.
I chose to serve my meatloaf with some cooked spaghetti.

- Return the pan to the oven and continue baking until the cheese on top is completely melted and the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160F. 15-20 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven and let the meatloaf rest in the pan for 5 minutes.
