To make these M&M brownies, I started by dumping some light brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, salt and eggs into a large mixing bowl.
I stirred all of the ingredients together until fully combined.
Then I added some all purpose flour and cocoa powder to the bowl.
I stirred until the flour and cocoa powder were fully incorporated into the batter.
Then I added some semi sweet chocolate chips and M&M’s to the bowl.
I stirred the chocolate chips and M&M’s into the brownie batter.
Then I lined an 8 x 8 square baking pan with parchment paper and sprayed it with cooking spray.
I poured the brownie batter into the baking pan and spread it out evenly.
Then I sprinkled some more M&M’s on top.
I placed the pan in the oven and baked the brownies until a toothpick inserted in the center came up with just a few crumbs.
I removed the pan from the oven and left the brownies to cool.
Once the brownies were only slightly warm, I used the parchment paper to lift the brownies from the pan.
Then I sliced the brownies.

- Pour the brownie batter into the pan and spread it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of M&M’s on top.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted near the center comes up with just a few crumbs. 30-35 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven and allow the brownies to cool.
- Once the brownies are only slightly warm, use the parchment paper to lift the brownies from the pan.
- Slice the brownies into the size you desire. I sliced my brownies into 16 pieces.
