Step by Step Instructions for Making Chopped Cheeseburger Casserole
To make this casserole, I started by dicing some onions and pickles.
STEP 1:
I dropped some lean ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat.
I crumbled the ground beef well as it cooked.
STEP 2:
Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I drained the grease from the skillet.
STEP 3:
I added the diced onions to the skillet.
I stirred well and continued cooking until the onions were translucent.
STEP 4:
I added some diced pickles to the skillet.
I also added some Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.

I stirred all of the ingredients together well and reduced the heat to low.

After 20 minutes I removed the foil and left the casserole to continue baking, uncovered, for about 5 minutes.
I removed the dish from the oven and allowed the casserole to rest for a couple minutes.

- Pour the 3 tablespoons of melted butter evenly over the bun pieces.
- Place the baking dish in the oven and toast the bun pieces for 8 minutes.
- Remove the dish from the oven and spoon the ground beef mixture evenly over the toasted bun pieces.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the ground beef mixture.
- Place the 8 top buns on top of the cheese.
- Brush the 1 tablespoon of melted butter on top of the buns.
- Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the butter buns.
- Cover the dish loosely with foil and return it to the 400F oven.
- Bake the casserole, covered, for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
- Remove the dish from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
