To make these baked tacos, I started by cooking some ground beef in a large saute pan over medium-high heat with a dab of margarine.

When the ground beef was almost cooked, I added a packet of taco seasoning to the pan.

I stirred until all of the ground beef was coated in the seasoning.

Then I added some diced onions to the pan and stirred again.

I left the ground beef to continue cooking for a few minutes and then removed the pan from the heat.

I drained the excess grease from the pan.

Then I added some salsa con queso cheese dip to the pan with the beef.

I stirred until all of the ground beef was coated in the cheese sauce.

Then I added some shredded mozzarella and cheddar to the pan.

I stirred the shredded cheese into the beef mixture.

Then I placed some Old El Paso nacho cheese flavoured stand and stuff taco shells into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.

I spooned the ground beef mixture into the taco shells.

Then I sprinkled some more shredded cheese on top.

I placed the baking dish in the oven and baked the tacos until the cheese on top was completely melted.

After I removed the baking dish from the oven, I sprinkled some chopped green onions on top of the tacos.

Extra Cheesy Baked Beef Tacos are an easy weeknight dinner recipe using ground beef, salsa con queso cheese dip, shredded mozzarella and cheddar and nacho cheese flavoured stand and stuff taco shells.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 oz taco seasoning
  • 1 cup diced yellow onions
  • 1/2 cup salsa con queso cheese dip
  • 3 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend
  • 10 Old El Paso nacho cheese flavoured stand and stuff taco shells
  • 1/3 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F.
  2. Dump ground beef into a large saute pan over medium-high heat along with a dab of butter or margarine.
  3. Crumble the ground beef well as it cooks.
  4. When the ground beef is almost cooked, add the taco seasoning to the pan and stir until all of the meat is coated.
  5. Add the onions to the pan and stir again.
  6. Leave the ground beef and onions to continue cooking for a few minutes.
  7. Then remove the pan from the heat and drain the excess grease from the pan.
  8. Add the salsa con queso cheese dip to the pan and stir well.
  9. Add 2 cups of the shredded cheese to the pan and stir again.
  10. Place the taco shells in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  11. Spoon the ground beef mixture into the taco shells.
  12. Sprinkle the remaing 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese on top.
  13. Place the dish in the oven and bake the tacos until the cheese on top is completely melted. 6-8 minutes.
  14. Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle the chopped green onions on top.
  15. Serve and enjoy!
