 STEP 1: 

To make this Frito pie, I started by cooking some lean ground beef in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.

I crumbled the ground beef well while it was cooking.

 STEP 2: 

Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I drained the excess grease from the pan.

Then I reduced the heat to medium and added a packet of taco seasoning to the meat.

I stirred until the meat was well coated in the taco seasoning.

Then I added some Heinz chili sauce, medium salsa and canned corn to the pan.

 STEP 3: 

I stirred well and left everything to simmer for a few minutes.

Then I poured the meat mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.

I sprinkled some Frito’s corn chips on top of the meat mixture.

 STEP 4: 

Then I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella and cheddar on top of the Frito’s followed by some chopped green onions.

I placed the dish in the oven and baked the Frito pie until the cheese was completely melted.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 oz mild taco seasoning
  • 1 cup Heinz chili sauce
  • 1 cup medium salsa
  • 8.75 oz canned corn, drained
  • 4 cups Frito's corn chips
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella and cheddar
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Cook lean ground beef in a large frying pan over medium-high heat with a dab of butter or margarine.
  3. Crumble ground beef well while it's cooking.
  4. When beef is fully cooked, drain grease from the pan.
  5. Add taco seasoning to the pan. Stir until meat is coated in seasoning.
  6. Add chili sauce, salsa and corn to the pan. Stir well and leave to simmer for a few minutes.
  7. Pour the meat mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  8. Sprinkle the corn chips on top of the meat.
  9. Sprinkle the shredded cheese and chopped green onions on top of the corn chips.
  10. Place the dish in the oven and bake until the cheese is completely melted. 9-11 minutes.
  11. Serve and enjoy!

Can you use a can of chili instead of chili sauce, I don't have any chili sauce.
