To make this sour cream noodle bake, I started by cooking some extra broad egg noodles according to the directions on the package and then draining them.
While the noodles were cooking, I dumped a pound of lean ground beef into a large saute pan over medium-high heat.
I added some diced onions to the pan with the ground beef.
I crumbled the ground beef well as it cooked.
Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I drained the grease from the pan and reduced the heat to low.
I added a jar of marinara sauce to the pan.
I stirred until all of the ground beef was coated in the sauce.
Then I dumped some sour cream and ricotta cheese into a large mixing bowl.
I added some Italian seasoning and salt and pepper to the bowl.
I stirred all of the ingredients together well.
Then I added the cooked noodles to the bowl.
I stirred until all of the noodles were coated in the sour cream and ricotta cheese mixture.
I sprayed a 9 x 13 inch baking dish well with cooking spray.
Then I spooned half of the noodle mixture into the bottom of the dish and spread it out evenly.
I spooned half of the ground beef and marinara mixture over the noodles in the baking dish.
Then I spread the remaining noodles on top of the ground beef.
I spooned the remaining ground beef and marinara over the noodles.
Then I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top.
I placed the baking dish in the oven and baked the casserole until the cheese on top was just starting to brown around the edges.
I removed the dish from the oven and left the casserole to sit for a couple of minutes.
Then I scooped and served the noodle bake.
