To make this cake, I started by greasing a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
I dumped a box of chocolate cake mix in the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
I sprinkled a box of chocolate pudding mix evenly over the cake mix.
I sprinkled some semi-sweet chocolate chips on top of the dry ingredients in the baking dish.
I used a fork to lightly mix the dry ingredients and chocolate chips together to cover the chocolate chips.
I poured some milk over the ingredients in the baking dish.
I used a fork to stir until the milk and dry ingredients were almost fully combined.
I sprinkled some more chocolate chips on top.
I placed some square butter slices on top, being sure to space them out as evenly as possible.
I placed the dish in the oven and baked the cakes until the edges were set.
Then the chocolate dump cake was ready to serve.
I served my chocolate dump cake with scoops of vanilla ice cream.

- 1 box (15.25) Betty Crocker chocolate cake mix
- 1 box (5.9 oz) Jello instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 2 ½ cups milk
- ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, room temperature, and sliced
How to Make Chocolate Dump Cake:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Butter a 9 by 13-inch baking dish. (you can also use non-stick spray)

Notes
- Substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark chocolate chips, peanut butter, Butterfingers, or Heath chips if desired
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream.
- Storage: Once completely cooled, place in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days and in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- Re-warm: Place your portion in a heatproof plate and place in an air fryer at 350 degrees F for 3 to 5 minutes depending on the desired temperature.
