To make this pear crisp I started by peeling and slicing some pears.
I dumped some flour, old fashioned oats, chopped walnuts, brown sugar and apple pie spice into a mixing bowl.
I stirred all of the ingredients together.
Then I added some melted butter to the bowl.
I stirred well again and set the bowl aside.
I dumped some granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, vanilla extract and apple pie spices into a large mixing bowl.
I whisked the ingredients together well.
Then I added the pear slices to the bowl.
I stirred until the pears were completed coated in the mixture.
Then I transferred the pears to a greased 12 inch cast iron skillet.
I sprinkled the oat mixture on top.
Then I placed the skillet in the oven and baked the crisp until it was golden and bubbling around the edges.
I removed the skillet from the oven and allowed the crisp to cool slightly.
Then I scooped and served the pear crisp.
This pear crisp is best served with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
