To make this apple crumble, I started by dumping two cans of apple pie filling into a greased 9 inch square baking dish.

I spread the pie filling out evenly.

Then I poured some all purpose flour and quick oats into a large mixing bowl.

I added some brown sugar, salt and cinnamon to the bowl.

I also added some melted butter to the bowl.

Then I used a fork to combine all of the ingredients until a crumbly mixture formed.

Then I added some lemon zest, lime zest, lemon juice and lime juice to the bowl.

I used the fork to stir well again.

Then I sprinkled the crumble mixture on top of the apple pie filling in a baking dish.

I placed the dish in the oven and baked the crumble until the pie filling was bubbling and the topping was nicely browned.

Then I removed the dish from the oven and allowed the apple crumble to cool slightly before scooping and serving.

  • 42 oz canned apple pie filling (2 x 21 oz cans)
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  4. Use a fork to stir all of the ingredients together until a crumbly mixture forms.

  6. Stir well again.
  7. Sprinkle the crumble mixture on top of the apple pie filling in the baking dish.
  8. Place the dish in the oven and bake until the pie filling is bubbling and the crumble topping is nicely browned. 32-36 minutes.
