To make this pasta salad, I started by cooking some cavatappi noodles and then rinsing them with cold water to cool them down.

I dumped the cooled down noodles into a large mixing bowl.

Then I added some mayo, basil pesto, salt and pepper to the bowl.

I stirred until all of the noodles were coated in mayo.

Then I added some halved grape tomatoes, diced red onions, chopped salami and real bacon bits to the bowl.

I stirred until all of the ingredients were combined with the pasta.

Then I added some shredded Parmesan cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese to the bowl.

I stirred well again and then placed the pasta salad in the fridge to chill for a couple hours before serving.

Italian Pasta Salad

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cavatappi noodles
  • 2 cups mayo
  • 1/4 cup basil pesto
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 cups grape tomatoes, sliced in half
  • 1 cup red onion, diced
  • 1 cup salami, chopped
  • 1/2 cup real bacon bits
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Cook cavatappi according to the directions on the package. Drain and rinse with cold water to cool down.
  2. Dump the cooled down pasta into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the mayo, basil pesto, salt and pepper to the mixing bowl.
  4. Stir until all of the pasta is coated with mayo.
  5. Add the halved grape tomatoes, diced red onions, chopped salami and real bacon bits to the bowl. Stir well.
  6. Add the shredded Parmesan and shredded mozzarella to the bowl. Stir well again.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for about two hours before serving so that the pasta can absorb all the flavours.
  8. Enjoy!
