To make this dish, I started by cooking some shell pasta according to the directions on the package.
I reserved ½ cup of the pasta water and then I drained the pasta and set it aside.
I added some butter and olive oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the butter was completely melted, I added some minced garlic to the skillet.
I cooked the garlic for a couple of minutes until it was fragrant.
Then I reduced the heat to low.
I added some lemon zest, lemon juice and the reserved pasta water to the skillet.
I stirred well.
Then I added the cooked pasta to the skillet and tossed it well to coat it in sauce.
I added some grated parmesan to the skillet.
I tossed the pasta well to distribute the parmesan.
Then I added some chopped parsley to the skillet.
I stirred well again.
I added some fresh lemon slices to the skillet right before serving.
Then the pasta was ready to scoop and serve.
Once the pasta was plated I topped it with additional grated parmesan, chopped parsley and lemon slices.

- Dump the butter and olive oil into a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic to the skillet.
- Stir and cook the garlic until it is fragrant. About 2 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low.
- Add the lemon zest, lemon juice and the ½ cup of pasta water to the skillet and stir.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir until it is coated in the sauce.
- Add the grated parmesan to the skillet and stir well.
- Add the chopped parsley to the skillet and stir again.
- Remove the skillet from the heat.
- Serve the pasta and garnish with lemon slices, grated parmesan and chopped parsley if desired.
