Step by Step Instructions for Making Pizza Pot Pie
STEP 1:
To make this crescent roll pizza pot pie, I started by dropping some Italian sausage meat into a large skillet over medium-high heat.
I crumbled the sausage meat well as it cooked.
STEP 2:
Once the sausage meat was fully browned, I added some diced onions to the skillet.
I stirred well and continued cooking until the onions were translucent.
I removed the skillet from the heat and set it aside.
STEP 3:
I sprayed a 9 x 13 inch baking dish well with cooking spray.
I opened one can of Pillsbury crescent rolls and unrolled the dough in the bottom of the baking dish.

Ingredients
- 10 oz Italian sausage meat, casings removed
- 1 cup diced onions
- 2 x 8 oz packages of crescent roll dough
- 14 oz pizza sauce
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 3 oz pepperoni slices
- 1 cup diced green peppers
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Dump the sausage meat into a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Crumble the sausage meat well as it cooks.
- Once the sausage is fully browned. Add the diced onions to the skillet.
- Stir and continue cooking until the onions are translucent. Remove the skillet from the heat and set aside.
- Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish well with cooking spray.
- Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it out in the bottom of the baking dish and up the sides.
- Spoon the sausage and onion mixture over the crescent dough in the baking dish.
- Spoon half of the pizza sauce over the sausage.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over top.
- Sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the cheese.
- Place the pepperoni slices in a single layer over the cheese.
- Sprinkle the diced green peppers over the pepperoni.
- Spoon the remaining pizza sauce over the pepperoni and green peppers.
- Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the top.
- Unroll the second can of crescent dough and place it over the ingredients in the baking dish. Press the dough down around the edges of the pan to join it to the bottom crust.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake until the crescent dough is nicely browned. 30 - 35 minutes.
- Remove the dish from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes.
