I made this tonight and prepared to take it to a gathering for tomorrow night. I can not believe how much this made as I only used 1 16 oz box of ziti. And 1 can of each of the soups so I did add plenty of cheese, threw in some parmesan I had left to grate, and added at least 2 and 1/2 cups of cream if not more. It took me quite a long time and not counting the cleanup!!! Oh my and I'm in loads of pain waiting for spinal fusion surgery! But I tried my best. I used store-bought shredded rotisserie chicken, and I like this easy smooth texture running through it. I also pulled my broccoli florets into much smaller pieces. If I'm going to this much work, I'd prefer a homemade white sauce for the best taste. I continued tasting as I went thru the steps and it's pretty bland but I added a large block of mozzarella and one of cheddar so the cream and cheeses will probably make up for the homemade sauce! I've never used this much cheese in one dish! Well... not in a while, lol. I wish I could put my finger on what's missing to flavor it up. I cooked only halfway through and will reheat it at the gathering tomorrow night. Thank heavens I found a huge disposable baking dish, as I went looking for my largest casserole dish! Otherwise, I would have had enough for 2 large casseroles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great problem!!! One to freeze and gift to someone in need or for the following week. Huge amount of food! Another good problem to have! I think if I would have added some mayo, sour cream, or cream cheese and a whole head of crushed fresh garlic... I may have liked it better. It almost could be served as a cold chix salad!!! But...the cheese melted inside and on top made it good. Also possibly change ziti to rice, but no mozzarella. Either way, I just happened to have everything so I kept the recipe! Thank you, as I don't save many but I love getting your recipes daily! Look through every recipe, too! I like your blogs as you show step by step methods rather than just reading a recipe! I can SEE exactly what I need to do and if I will be successful or not. You make every recipe look easy, tho! And I signed up because of the name and the fact that foods need to be fattening and delicious sometimes!!! Right?
