To make these fajitas, I started by slicing some onions and a variety of coloured bell peppers.

I dumped some lean ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat.

I crumbled the ground beef well as it cooked.

When the ground beef was fully cooked I added some chili powder, cumin, salt, paprika, onion powder and garlic powder to the skillet with the beef.

I stirred until all of the meat was well coated in the seasonings.

I added some olive oil to the skillet.

Once the oil was hot I added the sliced onions to the skillet.

I cooked the onions until they were just starting to soften.

I added the bell peppers and a pinch of salt to the skillet with the onions.

I stirred well and continued cooking for about five minutes.

I returned the cooked beef to the skillet and stirred all of the ingredients together well.

  3. Warm the olive oil in the skillet, and add the sliced onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, until the onion is just starting to soften.
  4. Add the sliced bell peppers and a small pinch of salt to the skillet with the onions. Sauté the bell peppers and onions for another 4-5 minutes. The veggies are ready when the peppers are tender-crisp.
