 Step by Step Instructions for Making Stuffed Pepper Casserole 

 STEP 1: 

To make this peppers and rice casserole, I started by cooking some lean ground beef in a large skillet.

Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I added some diced onions and minced garlic to the skillet.

 STEP 2: 

I continued cooking until the onions were tender.

I added some chopped bell peppers, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, cooked rice, dried basil, dried oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper to the skillet.

 STEP 3: 

I stirred all of the ingredients together well.

I dumped the mixture into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.

 STEP 4: 

I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

Then I covered the dish with foil.

I placed the dish in the oven and baked it until it was bubbling and the cheese was all melted.

I removed the foil and continued baking it just to brown the cheese a little.

Then I removed the casserole from the oven and allowed it to rest for a few minutes.

  6. Spoon the mixture into a 9x13-inch casserole dish and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the mixture.
  8. Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
