Step by Step Instructions for Making Hamburger Hashbrown Casserole
STEP 1:
To make this hamburger casserole, I started by dumping two pounds of lean ground beef into a large non stick skillet over medium-high heat.
I added some diced onions to the pan with the ground beef.
STEP 2:
I crumbled the ground beef well as it cooked.
Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I drained the grease from the pan.
Then I reduced heat to medium-low.
I added a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup and some milk to the skillet.
STEP 3:
I stirred well.
Then I sprayed a 9 x 13 inch baking dish well with cooking spray.
I transferred the ground beef mixture to the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
STEP 4:
Then I poured some melted butter into a large mixing bowl.
I added some salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder to the bowl.
STEP 5:
I whisked all of the ingredients together well.
Then I added some thawed shredded potato hashbrowns to the bowl.
STEP 6:
I stirred all of the ingredients together well.
I added some shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese to the bowl.
STEP 7:
I stirred well again.
Then I spooned the hashbrown mixture on top of the ground beef mixture in the casserole dish.
STEP 8:
I placed the baking dish in the oven and baked the casserole until the hashbrowns were starting to brown on top.
Then I removed the dish from the oven.
I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top of the casserole.
STEP 9:
I returned the dish to the oven and continued baking until the cheese was melted.
I removed the casserole from the oven and allowed it to sit for a few minutes.
Then the cheesy ground beef hashbrown casserole was ready to scoop and serve.

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Heat a large non stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and diced onions to the skillet.
- Crumble the ground beef well as it cooks.
- Once the ground beef is fully cooked, drain the grease from the pan.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low.
- Add the cream of mushroom soup and milk to the skillet.
- Stir until all of the ground beef is well coated in the soup mixture.
- Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish well with cooking spray.
- Transfer the ground beef mixture to the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Pour the melted butter, salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder into a large mixing bowl.
- Whisk well.
- Add the hashbrowns to the bowl and stir well.
- Add 1 cup of the shredded cheese to the bowl and stir well again.
- Spoon the hash browns on top of the ground beef mixture in the baking dish.
- Place the casserole dish in the oven and bake until the hashbrowns are starting to brown on top. Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle the remaining half cup of shredded cheese on top.
- Return the dish to the oven just until the cheese is melted. About 5 minutes.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
