To make these Instant Pot mashed potatoes, I started by washing some potatoes and cutting them into quarters.
I left the skin on the potatoes as I like the flavour it adds.
You could peel the potatoes if you prefer.
Then I poured a cup of water into my Instant Pot.
I added the potato quarters to the Instant Pot.
Then I placed the lid on the Instant Pot, turned the steam release handle to the sealing position and set the Instant Pot to Pressure Cook High for 15 minutes.
When the Instant Pot was done cooking, I immediately turned the steam release handle to the venting position and did a quick release.
I removed the lid from the Instant Pot and drained the liquid from the pot.
Then I started mashing the potatoes with a potato masher.
Once the potatoes were mostly mashed, I added some milk, butter, salt, pepper, garlic puree and onion powder to the pot.
I continued mashing until all of the ingredients were fully combined with the potatoes and no large chunks remained.
Then I added some shredded Parmesan cheese and chopped chives to the pot.
I stirred the cheese and chopped chives into the potatoes.
Then the creamy garlic mashed potatoes were ready to serve.
