To make these tacos, I started by dumping some lean ground beef into a skillet.

I crumbled the ground beef well as it cooked.

I added some diced onions to the skillet with the ground beef as it was cooking.

Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I drained the grease from the pan.

Then I added some ketchup to the skillet.

I also added some Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar to the skillet.

I also added some onion powder and garlic powder.

I stirred all of the ingredients together well and left the mixture to simmer for a few minutes.

I placed some stand and stuff taco shells in a baking dish.

I sprinkled shredded cheese into the bottom of each taco shell.

Then I spooned the ground beef mixture on top of the cheese in the taco shells.

I sprinkled some more shredded cheese on top.

Then I placed the baking dish in the oven and baked the tacos just until the cheese was melted and the taco shells were starting to brown slightly.

I removed the tacos from the oven.

Ingredients You’ll Need to Make These Sloppy Joe Tacos:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 10 stand and stuff hard taco shells
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend
How to Make Sloppy Joe Tacos:
  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Dump the ground beef into a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Crumble the ground beef well as it cooks.
  4. Add the diced onions to the skillet with the ground beef and stir well.
  5. Once the ground beef is fully cooked, drain the grease from the skillet.
  6. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, onion powder and garlic powder to the skillet.
  7. Stir all of the ingredients together well and leave to simmer while you prep the taco shells.
  8. Place the taco shells in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  9. Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded cheese into the bottoms of the taco shells.
  10. Spoon the ground beef mixture on top of the cheese in the taco shells.
  11. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheese on top of the ground beef.
  12. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake the tacos until the cheese is melted and the shells are starting to brown slightly. 4 – 6 minutes.
  13. Remove the tacos from the oven.
  14. Serve and enjoy!
