 STEP 1: 

To make this soup, I started by dumping some butter into the bottom of a large pot over medium heat.

Once the butter was melted, I added some diced onions to the pot.

I stirred the flour, butter and onions together well and continued cooking them for three minutes.

After three minutes, I added some chicken broth to the pot.

Then I added some milk to the pot.

I whisked well again.

Then I added some onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the pot.

 STEP 6: 

I whisked the spices into the soup.

Then I added some chopped broccoli florets to the pot.

 STEP 7: 

I stirred the broccoli into the soup.

I left the soup to simmer over medium heat for fifteen minutes, stirring frequently.

 STEP 8: 

After fifteen minutes, I removed the pot from the heat and added some shredded triple cheese blend to the pot.

I stirred the cheese into the soup.

Then the broccoli cheese soup was ready to serve.

This is the best broccoli cheddar soup ever. Plus it comes together in no time. My family loves it! I have made it twice in two weeks. You can change up the cheese if you with, I made it with colby/jack, wonderful. Plus I add shredded carrots to mine. This is a regular at our house. Thank you so much.
