To make this pasta, I started by cooking some spaghetti noodles according to the directions on the package.

Once the spaghetti was cooked, I drained it and set it aside.

Then I dumped some lean ground beef into a large saute pan over medium-high heat.

I added some diced yellow onions to the pan with the ground beef while it was cooking.

I crumbled the ground beef well as it cooked.

Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I drained the grease from the pan.

Then I added some water and taco seasoning to the pan.

I stirred until all of the ground beef was coated in the taco seasoning.

Then I added some tomato sauce to the pan.

I stirred well.

Then I added some salt and pepper to the pan.

I stirred well again.

I added some drained Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies to the pan.

I stirred the Rotel into the tomato sauce.

Then I added the cooked spaghetti to the pan.

I stirred until all of the spaghetti was coated in sauce.

Then I reduced the heat to low and added some chopped green onions to the pan.

I stirred the green onions into the spaghetti.

I added some shredded Mexican cheese blend to the pan.

I stirred until the cheese was melted.

I sprinkled some more shredded cheese and chopped green onions on top of the spaghetti.

Then the cheesy spaghetti was ready to serve.

  • 10 oz spaghetti noodles, uncooked
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 oz mild taco seasoning
  • 24 oz tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 10 oz mild Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies, drained
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend

Topping

  • 1/4 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions

How to Make Cheesy Taco Spaghetti:

  1. Cook spaghetti according to directions on the package.
  2. Drain and set aside.
  3. Dump the ground beef into a large saute pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the diced onions to the pan with the ground beef and stir well.
  5. Crumble the ground beef well as it cooks.
  6. Once the ground beef is fully cooked, drain the grease from the pan.
  7. Add the water and taco seasoning to the pan and stir until all of the ground beef is coated in the seasoning.
  8. Add the tomato sauce to the pan and stir well.
  9. Add the salt and pepper to the pan and stir well again.
  10. Add the drained Rotel to the pan and stir it into the sauce.
  11. Add the cooked spaghetti to the pan and stir until all of the noodles are coated in sauce.
  12. Reduce the heat to low, add the chopped green onions to the pan and stir.
  13. Add the shredded cheese to the pan and stir well again.
  14. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese and chopped green onions on top of the pasta.
