To make this peanut butter pie, I started by opening up a store bought chocolate pie crust.
I dumped some softened cream cheese into a large mixing bowl.
I used an electric mixer to whip the cream cheese until smooth.
I added some peanut butter and Cool Whip to the bowl.
I continued mixing with the electric mixer until the ingredients were fully combined.
I added some powdered sugar to the bowl.
I continued mixing until the sugar was completely incorporated into the mixture.
I scooped the peanut butter mixture into the chocolate pie crust and spread it out evenly.
I poured some half and half and some chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and microwaved them in 30 second intervals.
I stirred until the chocolate chips were completely melted.

I placed the pie in the refrigerator to set for two hours.

Notes
- You want to give the chocolate ganache time to set, otherise, the pie will be a pain to slice and the chocolate will run off the dessert. 2-2 ½ hours is the sweet spot for a set ganache.
- I like to top my pie with sliced Reese’s cups and chopped peanuts.
- You can store these covered in the fridge for up to a week. You can also store it in the freezer for up to a month. Simply let it thaw in the fridge before slicing and serving.
- This pie is smooth and creamy. It has a texture similar to cheesecake.
- In order to get a smooth, velvety filling, it is important to use smooth peanut butter and not crunchy peanut butter.
