To make this stuffing, I started by dumping some butter, chopped celery and diced onions into my Crock Pot.

I left the butter and veggies to cook on LOW for 20-30 minutes until the butter was melted and the veggies had started to soften.

Then I added some salt, pepper, dried sage, parsley, chicken broth and bread stuffing cubes to the pot.

I stirred all of the ingredients together gently.

I placed the lid on the Crock Pot and left the stuffing to cook on LOW for 3 hours.

After 3 hours I removed the lid and stirred the stuffing.

Ingredients You’ll Need to Make This Crock Pot Stuffing:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 medium onions, diced
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 2 teaspoons parsley
  • 2 (14.5-ounce) cans of chicken broth, divided
  • 2 (12-ounce) packages of bread stuffing cubes

How to Make Crock Pot Stuffing:

  1. Add the butter, celery and onion to the Crock Pot.
  2. Cook on LOW for about 20-30 minutes, or until the butter has melted and the veggies have started to soften.
  3. Next, add the remaining ingredients to the crockpot, stirring gently to combine (I only add one can of chicken broth to start that way it doesn’t get too soggy, but I can still add more if necessary).
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 3 hours.
  5. Remove lid and stir.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can make this and cover and refrigerate it overnight before cooking it if making ahead of time. It may need an additional 30 minutes or so to make sure it is heated through; I like to check it and stir throughout cooking to help speed things up and heat it up faster when I’ve done this.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of broth you use depending on how wet you like your stuffing.

Can I use fresh bread cubes that I cut up? Or does it have to be the hard prepackaged bread cubes? It looks like the bread in the photos was soft vs. dried out...
