To make this stir fry I started by dicing some orange bell peppers and heating a large skillet over medium heat.

Once the skillet was hot, I added some lean ground beef to the skillet.

I crumbled the ground beef well as it cooked.

Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I used a slotted spoon to transfer it to a bowl.

I discarded the grease from the skillet.

I added some sesame oil to the skillet and increased the heat to medium-high.

I added some snow peas and the diced bell peppers to the skillet.

I stirred and cooked the veggies until they were slightly tender but still crisp.

I returned the cooked ground beef to the skillet along with some grated ginger and minced garlic.

I stirred the ingredients together well and reduced the heat to medium.

I poured some soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, water, cornstarch and red pepper flakes into a small bowl.

I whisked well until no lumps of cornstarch remained.

I added the sauce to the skillet.

I stirred well and continued cooking until the sauce thickened.

I removed the skillet from the heat.

 

I garnished the stir fry with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Ingredients You’ll Need to Make This Ground Beef Stir Fry:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil or olive oil
  • 2 cups snow peas
  • 1 orange pepper, seeded and cut into bite-sized chunks
  • ½ tablespoon grated ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  4. Add the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, water, cornstarch and red pepper flakes to a small bowl or mason jar. Whisk or shake well, until the sauce is fully combined and no lumps of cornstarch remain.
  5. Add the sauce to the skillet and stir for 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon.
