To make this chicken casserole, I started by dumping two cans of condensed cream of chicken soup into a large mixing.

I added some sour cream to the bowl.

I also added some salt and pepper to the bowl.

I stirred all of the ingredients together well.

Then I added some shredded chicken to the bowl.

I stirred until all of the chicken was coated in the soup mixture.

Then I added some shredded mozzarella cheese, shredded parmesan and poppy seeds to the mixing bowl.

I stirred until all of the ingredients were combined.

Then I dumped the chicken mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.

I crumbled some Ritz crackers and poured them into a mixing bowl.

Then I added some melted butter and poppy seeds to the mixing bowl.

I used a fork to stir the melted butter and cracker crumbs together well.

Then I sprinkled the Ritz cracker mixture on top of the chicken mixture in the baking dish.

I placed the dish in the oven and baked the casserole until it was bubbling and the crackers on top were starting to brown.

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds

Topping

  • 2 cups crumbled Ritz crackers
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds

How to Make Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Dump the cream of chicken soup into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the sour cream, salt and pepper to the bowl.
  4. Stir well.
  5. Add the shredded chicken to the bowl.
  6. Stir until all of the chicken is coated in the soup mixture.
  7. Add the shredded mozzarella, shredded parmesan and poppy seeds to the bowl.
  8. Stir well again.
