To make these banana bars with chocolate chips, I started by dumping some softened butter into a large mixing bowl.
Then I added some brown sugar and granulated sugar to the bowl.
I used an electric mixer to cream the butter and sugar together well.
Then I added some eggs and ripe bananas to the bowl.
I also added some vanilla extract.
Then I continued mixing with the electric mixer until smooth.
I added some flour, salt and baking powder to the bowl.
I continued mixing with the electric mixer until all of the ingredients were fully combined.
Then I added some semi sweet chocolate chips to the bowl.
I stirred the chocolate chips into the mixture.
Then I lined a 10 x 15 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
I dumped the mixture onto the baking sheet and spread it out evenly.
Then I sprinkled some more semi sweet chocolate chips on top.
I placed the baking sheet in the oven and baked the banana bars until they were starting to brown around the edges and a toothpick inserted in the center came up clean.
I removed the baking sheet from the oven and left the chocolate chip banana bars to cool.
Once they were only slightly warm I sliced them into 32 rectangles.
Then the banana bars were ready to serve.
