To make these banana bars with chocolate chips, I started by dumping some softened butter into a large mixing bowl.

Then I added some brown sugar and granulated sugar to the bowl.

I used an electric mixer to cream the butter and sugar together well.

Then I added some eggs and ripe bananas to the bowl.

I also added some vanilla extract.

Then I continued mixing with the electric mixer until smooth.

I added some flour, salt and baking powder to the bowl.

I continued mixing with the electric mixer until all of the ingredients were fully combined.

Then I added some semi sweet chocolate chips to the bowl.

I stirred the chocolate chips into the mixture.

Then I lined a 10 x 15 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.

I dumped the mixture onto the baking sheet and spread it out evenly.

Then I sprinkled some more semi sweet chocolate chips on top.

I placed the baking sheet in the oven and baked the banana bars until they were starting to brown around the edges and a toothpick inserted in the center came up clean.

I removed the baking sheet from the oven and left the chocolate chip banana bars to cool.

Ingredients You’ll Need to Make This Banana Chocolate Chip Bars:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  4. Add the eggs, ripe bananas and vanilla extract to the bowl.
  5. Continue mixing with the electric mixer until smooth.
  6. Add the flour, salt and baking powder to the bowl.
  7. Continue mixing with the electric mixer until all of the ingredients are fully combined.
  8. Add 1 1/2 cups of the chocolate chips to the bowl.
  9. Stir the chocolate chips into the mixture.
  10. Line a 10 x 15 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  11. Dump the mixture onto the parchment lined baking sheet and spread it out evenly.
  12. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips on top.
  13. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake until the edges are starting to brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes up clean. 25 – 28 minutes.
  14. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the bars to cool.
  15. Slice into desired number of bars. I did 32 bars.
  16. Serve and enjoy!
