To make this banana bread, I started by dumping some softened butter, granulated sugar, eggs and vanilla extract into a large mixing bowl.

I used an electric mixer to cream the ingredients together until smooth.

I continued mixing with the electric mixer until no large lumps remained.

Then I added some all purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt to the bowl.

I used a rubber spatula to stir until all of the ingredients were fully combined.

Then I added some fresh blueberries to the bowl.

I continued stirring until the blueberries were fully incorporated into the batter.

Then I poured the batter into a greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan and spread it out evenly.

I placed the pan in the oven and baked the banana bread until a toothpick inserted in the center came up clean.

After removing the pan from the oven, I left the banana bread to cool in the pan for ten minutes.

After ten minutes I carefully removed the loaf from the pan and set it on a wire rack to continue cooling.

  9. Place the pan in the oven and bake until a toothpick inserted until the center of the loaf comes up clean. 60-65 minutes.
  10. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  11. After 10 minutes carefully remove the loaf from the pan and leave it to continue cooling on a wire rack.
  12. Wait until the bread is only slightly warm to slice it.
