To make this sugar cookie dough, I started by heating some all purpose flour in the oven at 350F for 5 minutes to eliminate any risk of bacteria from the raw flour.

I dumped some softened butter and granulated sugar into a mixing bowl.

I used an electric mixer to cream the butter and sugar together.

Then I added some vanilla extract, milk and salt to the bowl.

I used the electric mixer to combine all of the ingredients well.

Then I added the heat treated flour to the bowl.

I used the electric mixer to combine the flour with the wet ingredients until a sticky dough formed.

Then I added some colourful sprinkles and mini semi sweet chocolate chips to the bowl.

I stirred the sprinkles and chocolate chips into the cookie dough.

Then I covered the bowl and placed it in the refrigerator.

I left the cookie dough to chill for an hour before serving.
